Spend a week falling in love with dance and mental wellness - and the magic that happens when you bring the two together. Over the course of the program, participants will be introduced to subjects exploring mental health and wellness, as well as various dance styles, in order to cultivate inner confidence. Students will collaborate with inspiring instructors and fellow participants to explore the incredible world of wellness. Participants will leave BLOOM Summer Dance Experience with a heightened sense of creativity, knowledge of meditation, mindful, and coping skills, and a BLOOMing sense of confidence and self-esteem!

Program Requirements

  • New Orleans area Girls ages 8-13

  • Able to attend the full duration of the week-long camp. Monday-Friday | 9am to 3pm

  • No previous dance experience required



$100 The cost is subsidized through the generous support of donors. Includes lunch, camp t-shirt, and yoga materials.

Typical Day

9:00-9:30 MORNING INSPIRATION Gather together to energize and get excited about the day’s activities. This can include a mindful, confidence-boosting activity, an inspiring video, or a guest speaker.

9:30-10:15 YOGA A time spent calming the mind, balancing the body, and becoming focused on the power inside each BLOOMer.

10:15-11:30 BALLET Benefits of Ballet include: •Boosted Confidence •Enhanced Focus •Sharpened Critical Thinking Skills •Fosters a Great Work Ethic

11:30-12:30 LUNCH In addition to lunch, students will enjoy guest presenters and deepen relationships with one another.

12:30-1:45 JAZZ Benefits of Jazz Dance include: •Improved mood •Expression of mood and creativity

1:45-2:45 EMPOWER HOUR An hour dedicated to mindful activities, arts & crafts, or discussions, exploring topics including self-talk, confidence, coping skills, teamwork.
